Sustainable cooperation Between 2014 and 2017 I was a member of a research network focusing on formal methods in epistemology. More information on this network can be found here. What are the chances? Between 2011 and 2016 I ran a VIDI project with funding from the Netherlands Organization of Scientific Research (NWO) for a research project on single-case chance. Have a look at the page of the project for a further description. Rationality and decision In 2009 Olivier Roy and I won a research grant to hold a series of workshop with a European network of experts. We held a number of workshops and completed two special issues, one of Erkenntnis and one of Economics and Philosophy. More on the project can be found here. Interventions and conceptual change Between 2007 and 2009 I worked on a Veni-project about the elusive process of conceptual change and its relations to experimental intervention, as described in the philosophy of experiment and in causal Bayesian networks. Progic Between 2007 and 2010 Rolf Haenni, Greg Wheeler, and Jon Williamson and I formed the research group Progicnet. We have produced a joint book about combining probabilistic reasoning and logic, which came out in 2010 in the Synthese library. We also form the steering committee of the Progic conferences. Follow the link to see the full list of conferences. See Progic 2009 for the workshop in Groningen. Bayesian inductive logic In my PhD research I studied inductive logic and its connections to Bayesian statistical inference. My dissertation can be found here. |
